I'd like to be a tree to you.


I'll try not to push or pull you toward me,
I'd rather wait until the moment comes
when you need a place of shelter,
a place to come in times of storm.


What I want to do while you're on the job
is to become the biggest tree that you can find,
so I can keep you dry from every raindrop
and you can sleep in peace knowing I'm around.


So please know this: since you seem so occupied,
I'm trying to give you space so you can catch your breath
and it's just me being me hanging out like a tree
till the time you look back and call for me.
